AMOEBA Robotics
Hands-On STEM Experience
AMOEBA Robotics, a program started by MOE 365 FTC, serves as a catalyst for expanding FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) participation in Delaware. Born from the seasoned experience of MOE FTC, established in 2006, AMOEBA Robotics supports new and developing FTC teams in New Castle County. Through mentorship, resources, designated space, and financial support, AMOEBA empowers students in grades 7-12 to develop essential STEM skills outside the classroom, build innovative robots, and pursue careers in engineering, science, and technology.
Through AMOEBA Robotics, MOE 365 extends its commitment to STEM education by ensuring that more students have the opportunity to engage in hands-on, real-world engineering experiences. This initiative directly addresses the need for accessible robotics programs in Delaware, creating pathways for students to pursue STEM careers.
Program Structure
-
AMOEBA Robotics is a part of First State Robotics, Inc (FSR), a verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
First State Robotics primarily supports one FIRST Robotics Competition team (FRC), while AMOEBA Robotics is a subprogram that serves five FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams and one FIRST Lego League (FLL) team.

AMOEBA Robotics is led by Co-Directors Arnav Prasad and Caroline Hermance, with support from Andrew Szeto. AMOEBA Program leadership have been involved with FIRST for a combined 35+ years, with shared experience running one of the longest-standing FTC teams in the world. While not at robotics, our team can be found helping small businesses, building aircraft, or working on clean energy projects in our professional lives.
Our program leadership is small but mighty - leaning on the support of program mentors, team parents, family, and friends to build out AMOEBA as a sustainable, effective, and well-known program.
-
Each season, AMOEBA Robotics hosts ~35 7th-12th grade students, supported by 12 coaches and mentors.
For the 2024-2025 season, AMOEBA Robotics supported 5 FTC teams:

LIKE WE TEACH OUR STUDENTS… ASK FOR HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT!
AMOEBA Robotics is currently seeking sponsors and supporters as we find a new home for our program before the 2025/2026 season begins. With the recent loss of a major partner, our organization is quickly searching for machine shop and practice space for our current teams, with the hope to have room to grow.
