First Competition

As you all know, we had our first real competition of the season yesterday.  We did very well, especially when you compare where we are now to where we’ve been at this  point in the season in past years.

We finished in 7th place, and won the Motivate award. Although usually only the top four teams get to choose alliance partners, because of whom the top four teams chose.  The Motivate award is basically an award for having the most team spirit. However, we did not qualify for the PA state championships.

We also learned some things. We learned, for example, that it’s a good idea to have extra battery fuses on hand.  We also discovered that it’s important to make sure that the gyro is correctly positioned before each match. We also learned about some weaknesses of our design.

We also made friends with team 4949, the Terabytes, from Pittsburgh, PA.

Congratulations to Say Watt on winning the Inspire Award, and to team 61, Ozone, on being the captain of the winning alliance!

GO MOE!

Engineering MOEtebook

So… our first competition is a week from tomorrow. Like I said before, there are things I need for the MOEtebook. In addition to the biographies (see the emails I sent), I need things like the bill of materials, and controller diagrams. This is just a heads up to let y’all know that I will be asking you to do things tomorrow. By asking, I mean commanding. :)

Also, a huge vote of thanks to Amy for helping me with the MOEtebook. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. :)

GO MOE!
